Member of the Year Award

Once a year, at the Annual Conference, DET/CHE presents a special award for Member of the Year.  The purpose of this distinction is to recognize an individual member of DET/CHE for his or her outstanding contribution, leadership and achievements in service to DET/CHE and to the profession.

The Criteria for Member of the Year recommend that nominees will have demonstrated significant achievement in one or more of the following categories:

  • Significant contribution or service to DET/CHE

  • Extraordinary professional contribution in the promotion/advocacy of media services

  • Outstanding contributions or achievements in California academic media services

  • Leadership in bringing together the varied interests, expertise and levels of media personnel.

The Nomination/Selection Process directs that candidates will be nominated by their colleagues. No current member of the Executive Board or selection committee is eligible for nomination during their tenure on the Board/Committee. Awardees must be members of the organization known as DET/CHE.

The Award: Winner receives an engraved plaque or similar token of recognition. No monetary award is given. The award presentation is made during the Banquet Dinner of the Annual Conference.
