Location of the conference.

The conference will be held on the beautiful Monterey Bay at Cocoanut Grove & West Coast Santa Cruz Hotel. The University of California, Santa Cruz will host the fall conferences of CCUMC and DET/CHE. The UCSC campus is nestled in the majestic redwoods on a hill overlooking Santa Cruz City and the Monterey Bay. The campus attracted more than 10,600 students for the 1997-98 academic year.

Santa Cruz is located on California's central coast, approximately 75 miles south of the San Francisco Airport and about 35 miles from San Jose. The mild, mediterranean-like climate attracts many visitors to this coastal town, which was proclaimed by Sunset Magazine, July 1997, to be one of the best California beach towns!

Conference Facilities

The conference will begin with registration at the West Coast Santa Cruz Hotel (formerly Dream Inn) located near the Santa Cruz Wharf. The remaining days of the conference will be held at the Cocoanut Grove, merely a short walk away. Both facilities are located on the beach with a spectacular view of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
