Session Title:
One Site for Many Subjects: The UC Atlas of Global Inequality

Session Description:
Using maps and graphics, the UC Atlas of Global Inequality originated in the UC Santa Cruz Sociology Department as a web site exploring aspects of inequality. Once the prototype was developed, its ability to present information in a visual, easily recognizable way sparked a great deal of interest from other instructors. The push is now on to make this site useable for students, researchers and instructors at different levels and in numerous subjects. This presentation is about the development of this web site, including:
  1. Identifying the objectives and creating a development team.
  2. The site and its components.
  3. Writing grants to finance improvements.
  4. Assessment and evaluation.
  5. Current improvements and future plans.

Presenter:
Sheryl Martin-Schultz, an Instructional Developer at UC Santa Cruz, will describe the process of bringing everything and everyone together on a project.
